We thought we’d timed it perfectly–I’d have wrapped up wedding season, and certainly I would have found my rhythm with my fledgling business by then. So, when we learned we were expecting — and due on a weekend I’d booked not one, but TWO weddings — we realized we’d toasted to our “perfect” plan a touch too soon.
But there’s never an ideal time to have a baby, right?
Our news was taken with a grace that comes from someone only as lovely as she. Karoline is breathtaking, inside and out; but for me, the beauty in these images is that they symbolize a reconnection, a friendship rediscovered and newly cherished. Although my very pregnant belly made it impossible to photograph her wedding day, there’s no undoing the beautiful new chapter written in our friendship in the months leading up to her big day, and particularly on the warm New England afternoon that we captured these bridal portraits. Our timing may not have been just right, but the outcome was full of beauty, nonetheless. xo
