I’m just going to say it like it is: I am OBSESSED with the images from this boudoir session. And not just because of the dreamy light and my subject’s staggering eyes, but because of the transformation I witnessed in her as she became more comfortable with me — and herself.
Boudoir sessions are both intimate and empowering. They force us to exude confidence, to find our favorite features and flaunt them—and, better yet, to find beauty in our (perceived) imperfections. It’s a beautiful process that I see to some extent in all of my sessions, but most dramatically with boudoir clients: at first, a tentativeness. Then, with each capture and affirmation from behind the camera, a slow but marked release, an unfurling of fearlessness and poise that colors the photograph with vibrancy and personality.
“You are imperfect, permanently and inevitably flawed. And you are beautiful.” Here’s to owning every inch. Enjoy! xo
